hijabiSTA

If you have noticed from my recent pictures that i have changed my style, yes i have.
I have done the hijrah. Alhamdulilah.
On the 19th Dec, its been a year. A year of hijab. Truthfully i am so proud of myself. This is the best decision i have made so far. Alhamdulilah. (Cannot thank enough for the hidayah that i received from Allah SWT :'))
This is my recent look.
The day i wore out to meet my friends, they are taken aback. Never in their right mind would i wear hijab at this age. I have also never mention that i have any intention to wear at all. But Alhamdulilah, alot of people praises made me happy as it was very encouraging.
Below pictures are from a year ago.
After i don the hijab, i can say that a few of my friends also actually do the same. Quite a number actually which i am so proud of. Even my cousin too! Around the same time as me. Some may have already had the hidayah but i think wasn't ready but somehow someone already have the courage to do so, and it inspire them. so Alhamdulilah, if my hijrah inspires them to do the same.
Alot of friends and families asked why the change of heart and i never really tell anyone why...
A few months after my marriage, i was face with challenges that was too heartbreaking. My dad passed away after years of having bad asthma. And right after that, my hubby was diagnosed with heart attack. It was a painful experience. At that point of time, i was at the verge of breaking down. I have never felt so weak in my life. So many thoughts racing through my mind but i keep praying to God for the strength to carry on.
Alhamdulilah, i managed to move on and keep strong for my own and siblings' sake. After that, i keep thinking why are these happening to me? 2 experiences happened one after the other. I, or We (me & hubby), before my dad passed away, we often think of having fun. We went out a lot with friends, almost every weekend to 'lepak' or have dinner. At that point of time, my dad is already quite sick, in and out of hospital but we chose to visit a few times due to our house distance. Me & hubby in Jurong while the dad were in Yishun. My dad used to complain asking us to come visit him and i guess he did get upset a few times when we refused to come. This was when he was in his last days. No use regretting now but I should have spent a little more time with my dad. :(
After that, Hubby complained that he got difficulty in breathing. Saying there is a sharp pain at his chest. At first he refused to see doctor but after a few times of the excruciating pain, he went and doctor confirmed high cholesterol and risked of having an heart attack. That day i just felt like collapsing. I was having bad thoughts really. We are only into 3months of marriage at that time & I really have no intention of losing my husband. He is just 26 year old. My life just shattered. Alhamdulilah, hubby managed to undergo a minor operation and it turned out ok. Till now he is under medication.
So after all these challenges, some how it opened up my ears and eyes and heart to being a good Muslim. All my life i have enjoyed the word-ly stuffs never thinking of life after death. And i realised that i cannot continue this life of happy-go-lucky. I just want to live old together with my hubby in peace and in Allah's way. And surprisingly, everywhere i see in the internet shows me about hijab. From there i was inspired and decided to don it. With approval from hubby, Alhamdulilah i have come this far. In Shaa Allah, this will be my permanent uniform till the end.

cooking skills?

Ok this post will be very embarrassing and it will sound very bimbotic. HAHA.
Truthfully, i do not know how to cook. After marriage, i told myself that i will learn how to cook from the MIL and thought will naturally be good at it. But its already 1 year and 9 months but i still have not cooked a single thing for the Hubby. Okayyy, except for maggi and egg and rice and pancakes. HAHA. I took for granted that i lived with my mother-in-law and she cooks almost everyday so i do not have too. But so far no complains from the Hubby. YET.
MIL was out of town to KL, with the SIL and family since Saturday. Sunday, we went out so we ate outside but on Monday, i was thinking of cooking dinner for the Hubby. Sudden decision. Haha. I was thinking of simple dishes. At first thought of Nasi Goreng Daging but suddenly I find it too difficult. Then i remembered that my Father's side, we have our signature dish that is, Belado. Super simple dish so I asked my aunt again to reconfirm the ingredients and i did managed to cook it!
Awesome or what?? HAHA. Alhamdulilah, the Hubby says its very nice and so does 2nd SIL. Dinner for that night was finger licking good. HAHA! Well, it seems for me coz its my favourite dish! Really!
We thought that they (MIL & family) will come back today but they will only coming back tomorrow so i had to cook again just now. Asked the Hubby and he said he wanted to eat Black Pepper Beef. I start to panic and find recipes for it and managed to find one under my healthy cook book. So i again start to cook..
Introducing Pepper Beef.
HAHA it doesn't look like in the book but it taste nice! Really! The meat is tender and the potato is well cooked. HAHA ok ok I'm praising myself but its an achievement for me. Feel so proud of myself. HAHA.
Ok i cannot wait for my own house to cook! *grin*

Alhamdulilah all went well with just one 'lafaz' and she is a wife now. truthfully, i nearly teared when the 'lafaz' was made. soo happy for her. the couple looked great by the way. sadly, i only have these pictures.
Can't wait for the Sanding event on the Saturday. And then they can enjoy the marriagehood to the fullest. In Shaa Allah.
